Believe Her, I am Your Leader
This piece signifies the total control of our (humanity’s), demons. The swan is the representative of each individual person and the skull is symbolic of those demons. The whole series of ETERNAL is about the struggle between humanity and the evil in the world. This piece in particular deals with the personal battle each of us fight. Are we able to overcome the inner demons that we face each day? Are we able to persevere through our obstacles?
BELIEVE HER, I AM YOUR LEADER, is a piece that shows that on certain days the evil can seem to overpower every aspect of your life. It seems to be that there is no “good” in the world around you. BUT the swan has its head held high and knows that it can overpower and conquer the “bad” in its life. Despite all the negative in its life (shown as the skulls in the water) the swan (us) shines and pushes forward. We all have inner strength and can persevere through adversity. This is essentially a piece of hope and strength, showing its possible to overcome terrible obstacles.
IS THIS THE END?
Is This The End? is the point in ETERNAL & THE RISINGwhere everything has come to fruition. The evil in the world has finally taken hold and made humanity its source of chaos spreading corruption. The ducks symbolize the messenger of the evil as ducks stick together and act as a family much like we as humans do. This is a period of widespread panic and sadness. The time of Sodom and Gamora if you will, in the modern age.

CHOICES VS. VOICES
Choices Vs. Voices is a part of The Lyricist’s Dreams collage series that I have been sporadically working on over the last couple years. This one here is about the never-ending battle between a person’s inner demons and their morality, their conscience. The actual style of the piece is similar to the work in the series ETERNAL. I think it fit these words well.
The deep context everyone wants to know is, “How does this imagery fit the text?” (I’ll post the text later). Basically, I like to represent the creative spirit with skulls as I feel the epicenter of the craft is constructed here. “Demon” esque characters are great for evil as it’s a well-known image to show darkness. We all know how much I love pop culture and the themes of pop-art. This is just a modern twist.
The child represents the innocence that we all have until that one moment in life that something in us switched over. We now see all the violence, all the despair & heartache in the world we live in. Essentially, the choices that each of us have in life are varied based on culture and surroundings, however we all have them.
Which brings about the versus voices part. We ARE influenced by our culture, our surroundings, everything that embodies the lives of the people around us as we grow. SO, how much of our lives our truly based off our OWN personal choices? Some of us most certainly do, but what about the rest of us?
